In 1958 the Mission Board of the ELC purchased a site in Northwest Great Falls with a view of beginning a new congregation. In April of 1960 construction of the first unit was begun, and in August Rev. Richard Waag arrived to begin the work on what was to become Redeemer Lutheran Church.
